So why Squarespace you’re asking? And why not one of the other big web designers on the market, Wordpress, GoDaddy’s builder etc.

When it comes down to it, the other builders are just as good, and some have extensive features Squarespace might not, but after years of using all different website builders, Squarespace just pushes my buttons. Its a mix of great aesthetics, it’s easy to use and does the job!

I started my first website in April of 2007. Is was built in html and pretty gawd awful looking back at it - I still have it online to laugh at in a secret location!!

Since then, I’ve surfed the waves of new businesses coming in and out of the market, I even bought one back to Australia from the UK as an affiliate but just keep finding dead ends.

I have been using Squarespace for years now, and have slowly been transferring all of my current clients I built their websites years ago, to this great platform.

SQUARESPACE IS NOT JUST A WEBSITE BUILDER

it’s an all-in-one content management system or CMS. No need to have any programs on your computer. Its cloud based and you can login and update from any computer.
With your subscription, you have access to their user-friendly platform, content hosting, well-designed templates, built-in security and analytics, 24/7 support, and much more.

Here are some reasons I love using Squarespace.

It is worth mentioning I use both in my professional web design and in our One Day Website Courses that we continue to use Squarespace 7.0 - the reasons I give below but I feel it is easier to use and gives more design options (to both newbie and professional designers)

SQUARESPACE 7.0

Squarespace released Squarespace 7.1 on the 11th July 2019 and put bluntly we are not fans.

We are still using the perfectly capable (and in our opinion better) Squarespace 7.0 and here is why.

1. The userface is easier to use for beginners and non technical beginners to Squarespace.

2. Blogging in 7.1 is hard work; plus there is no share buttons. Its a big thing for users who want to use this feature to increase website traffic.

3. It’s new and has issues; Until Squarespace can iron out the issues they are having I’m sticking with a version that works.

Squarespace offers great templates to help you build you site.
You can quickly set up the pages you need and have it looking great from the start!
Of course, we go one step further and design css coding into our designs to manipulate the way the templates look, so we can off a bespoke design.

TWO.

FROM BEGINNERS TO DESIGNERS

You don’t need to know how to code with Squarespace.
But saying that, if you want to add your own bit of CSS to make it your own, there is that option too. This also helps with niggling things are a problem, like your Squarespace site showing hyphens on your mobile version etc.

Otherwise stands for;

You click save and the changes are live.
No need to upload and wait fr changes to take place.

FOUR.

SECURITY INCLUDED

Squarespace automatically creates and configures free SSL certificates with industry recommended 2048-bit keys and SHA-2 signatures for all of our websites, including ones with custom domains. With your site secured by SSL, your visitors will see a green secure lock icon when browsing your site in their browser’s address bar, and your site’s rankings in Google will be improved.

INTERNAL IMAGE EDITOR

Whilst professional designers have access and know how to use editing programs such as photoshop, beginners are left a little clueless.
Squarespace has its own image editor, allowing you to crop or brighten etc.

LOVE IS ALL AROUND

The love the customer support show is strong!
If you can’t get a hold of me and the forums and online support can’t help you, they are super fast in their replies to emails.

ANALYTICS COMES FREE

Squarespace has its own built-in analytics - which tells you stats much as the traffic that has come to your site, where they came from, what pages they visited, search words they used to find you!

IT LOOKS GOOD ON A MOBILE

Considering more people visit websites on their phone than on a desktop computer its important your website looks as good on a mobile and is easy to browse. Squarespace sites are responsive which means it automatically puts it into a mobile version that will wow!
